Dear readers!  From here on out, this blog will now be my “portfolio blog”, where my professional-level work is displayed.  For my sketches, doodles, and art experiments, I have created a new blog, the Adventurous Artist.  It’s address is gabewarilasketches.tumblr.com.    Thanks for dropping by!

I think Sakura’s the classiest of the Naruto girls.  Besides, she’s got such pretty pink hair…that bubblegum hue is always good, isn’t it?

Sketches on recycled paper, with colored pencils.  It’s a refreshing change from plain white paper.

Something to remember when drawing on colored paper: if you want a section of intense color, put a layer of white down before adding the color of choice.

These are a couple quick acrylic ideas I busted out.  Each took around an hour.  Painting loose and fast is a good way to just relax and explore.

Quick sketch, just relaxing.

I love making custom brushes now.  Love them.  They gave Pluto and Charon their texture in this piece.  More celestial art coming soon!

Fanart of one of P. G. Wodehouse’s characters.  Wodehouse was a terrific British humor writer.  His stories are thoroughly enjoyable and best read over a casual lunch.
